Terms of use

Version v1 · Effective date to be confirmed

These terms are the rules for using LEO NEXUS. By creating an account or using LEO NEXUS, you agree to them. Please read them together with our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

To confirm: Who you are agreeing with: the legal name and address of the organisation that runs LEO NEXUS.

Who can join

  • Leos: members of a Leo club, aged 10 or over, with the Leo ID their club gave them.
  • Lions: members of a Lions club, aged 16 or over, with the Lion ID their club gave them.
  • Managers: staff accounts that a Lion creates for their organization. A Manager cannot sign up alone.
  • One account per person. The details you give must be true and your own.

To confirm: What a member under 18 needs from a parent or guardian before using LEO NEXUS.

Your account

  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
  • Your club's Club Admin confirms that you are a member. Platform staff check identity documents before an account is marked as verified.
  • Extra responsibilities, such as Club Admin, take effect only once your own account is verified.

Organizations

  • Only Lions members can register their business on LEO NEXUS, after verifying their identity.
  • Platform staff review each organization before it can post opportunities.
  • A Lion may add Managers to help run their organization, and is responsible for what they do on it.
  • An organization is responsible for making sure its opportunities are real, accurate and lawful, and that it treats applicants fairly.

Opportunities and applications

  • LEO NEXUS is where Leos and organizations meet. We are not the employer and not a party to any job, internship or project agreement between a Leo and an organization.
  • The organization decides who it selects. LEO NEXUS shows how many of your skills match a posting, but no automated system decides who is selected.
  • You may withdraw an application while it is still pending or shortlisted.
  • When an organization marks your work as completed, a verified record appears on your profile. It shows the organization's confirmation; LEO NEXUS does not check the work itself.
  • We do not promise that an application will succeed or that an opportunity will happen.

What you post

  • You keep ownership of what you post: your profile, photos, posts, comments and messages.
  • You allow LEO NEXUS to store it, adjust it (for example, resize photos) and show it to the people the privacy policy describes, including in the public summary shown when you share a link. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
  • Post only what you have the right to post, and never other people's personal details without their agreement.

What you must not do

  • Give false information, pretend to be someone else or upload documents that are not genuinely yours.
  • Harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone.
  • Post opportunities that are fake, unlawful, unsafe or discriminatory, or that ask applicants for payment.
  • Send spam or advertising in chat or comments.
  • Copy data from LEO NEXUS in bulk, or use automated tools to collect it.
  • Try to get around security, reach data you are not allowed to see, or disrupt the service.

Reports, moderation and suspension

  • You can report a comment or a chat message. A System Administrator or Super Admin reviews each report.
  • We may remove content that breaks these terms.
  • A Super Admin may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. A suspended account is signed out everywhere and cannot sign in.
  • These actions are recorded in a log that cannot be changed afterwards.

To confirm: How a member can ask for a moderation or suspension decision to be reviewed.

The AI assistant

  • The assistant is optional. It runs on Google Gemini and may give wrong or incomplete answers, so check anything important.
  • It can only suggest a change. Nothing is saved until you confirm it on the screen, and you are responsible for what you confirm.
  • Do not type passwords, identity numbers or other sensitive details into it.

Payments

LEO NEXUS has no payment features. It never asks you for card or bank details. No one may ask an applicant for money through LEO NEXUS.

Closing your account

  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings, then Privacy and data. The privacy policy explains what is removed and what is kept.
  • An account that owns an organization must hand it over or close it first. A System Administrator or Super Admin cannot delete their own account.

Names and emblems

To confirm: The exact notice for the Lions Clubs International and Leo names and emblems, which the owner has permission to use.

Our responsibility

To confirm: The limits of liability, how the service is provided (availability, changes and withdrawal of features) and any disclaimers. These need a lawyer's wording.

Changes to these terms

The version of these terms is shown at the top of the page.

To confirm: How members are told about a new version, and when it takes effect.

Law

To confirm: The governing law (expected: the law of Sri Lanka) and which courts decide disputes.
